TRAVEL TO VISA INTERVIEW:

Canadian Immigrant Visa Processing Centers (Federal Government) are located in 34 countries (see list of Visa Offices abroad at http://www.cic.gc.ca ), and Quebec Visa Offices are located in even fewer countries. Under the Federal Government selection system, a Skilled Worker applicant currently may apply only at the Canadian visa office designated by Canada Immigration to serve the country of current lawful residence of the applicant or the country of their nationality. For example, the visa office designated to serve residents of northern Europe and residents of the Gulf States is the Canadian High Commission in London, UK.

The applicant must bear the expense of travel for himself/herself to attend any visa interview required by the visa officer (spouses and adult children are requested to attend the interview, but usually do not have to attend interview).

MEDICAL EXAMINATION AND DOCUMENTATION COSTS:

Medical Examinations -All successful applicants must undergo a medical examination at their own expense, and be prepared to travel to one of the medical clinics designated by Canada Immigration in their country of residence. Documentation costs -Supporting documents such as education certificates, employment references and business documents may have to be notarized, certified or translated (if not already in English or French). You may also have to pay for assessments of occupational credentials by Canadian licensing or professional organizations -Police Clearance Certificates - you are required to produce at your expense certificates of no criminal record from the various countries in which you have resided as an adult.
